Gianna Welsh, Junior Class Publicity Officer 2019
August ASB Report
Position assessment: Thus far into the year as Junior Class Publicity Officer I have done several things to start off the school year. Along with the help of the other class officers, I helped to create the design the class t-shirts, place the order, and confirm the quantities of each size. I also filled out cash box forms for pow wow where I sold pre orders for the t-shirts, along with club rush. I helped to clean out the spirit box and assisted Gabriel and Jacob with making the purchase order form. Standing Committee: I am an assistant member of the publicity and spirit committee, my help hasn’t been needed so far, but I am yet to check in with the leaders to find out if they need assistance. Special Committee: I am a student leader along with the other junior class officers for the Dude Be Nice Week Committee, we haven't done anything regarding this week because it isn't until later in the year. Concern/s: Considering it is my first year in leadership, I dove head in hoping it would all be fine, and considering all of that I don't have any concerns significant concerns this far into the year, other than that I feel like the communication in the class could be better both casually and in a 'working' manner. Positive Comment: Like I previously stated its my first year being a student in the leadership class here at Ripon High, and I think the most positive thing about the people in the class I can say is that I feel that if I am ever confused or need help with anything, I could ask anyone and they would help me with whatever I need. One Change: One change that I would love to see throughout this year is image leadership kids are to some students here. I think that it's really important for us to have a positive image that we display to the students here, rather than hearing negative things about us and the class itself. My Impact: One of the core principles we decided on was "not friends, but family", I'm relating my impact on campus to this because I make it a point everyday to talk to people outside of my inner circle, and recently I've been trying to make it a point to get past the small talk stages with a lot of these people, so that they know they have another friend on campus that they could always come talk to whenever they need that 'someone' to talk to.

September & October ASB Report
Position Assessment: These past two months have been filled with with lots of long hours and exciting events. Homecoming was a huge focus for the junior class officer team! I along was in-charge of this years homecoming procedure form, and worked collaboratively with the other junior class officers on all of our class events, such as the homecoming lip-sync, front of school and rally decorations, and the Homecoming parade float. Even though our events could have ran smoother, and we could have avoided some stress, I think overall we did a very good job in executing our goals. Standing Committee: I am an assistant member of the publicity and spirit committee, my help hasn’t been needed so far, but a group-chat has been created where we can communicate with our committee leaders when they need help. Special Committee: I am a student leader along with the other junior class officers for the Dude Be Nice Week Committee, thus far we haven't discussed much of our game plan yet, but we plan on having a meeting with Morty soon about selling the 100 Dude Be Nice stickers ordered. Concern/s: My concerns thus far mainly revolve around my lack of certain communication skills, I find myself constantly stressed and overwhelmed over the fact that my opinions and ideas aren't heard, and then on top of that when there is carelessness and selfishness happening, I am left at a lack of better words, and its something that I really need to learn to better manage, because some things are better left unsaid. Positive Comment: Our leadership class here at RHS is very well rounded and I feel as though if any of us need help with something, it's someone else's strong suit, that kind of balance is what keeps us productive. One Change: One change I want to try to make happen is to create a really close bond with the people in our class! It's really easy to talk to most of the students, and they seem extremely trust worthy but some students I've been having a hard time getting to know. My Impact: I hope to make a positive impact on my school, i hope everyday i try to be as positive a possible to create an environment on campus so that people may enjoy their day a little bit more.

December ASB Report
Position Assessment: Recently the Junior class officer team has been spending our time planning out and executing Winterfest and our Christmas tree for the holiday night rally. The right rally went really well, even though we didn't win I feel that our tree turned out really well. A few nights before the event we got together and created it all out of items we already owned to save money because we want to keep our account as sturdy as possible. We held a meeting to gather our ideas for Winterfest, and I really think we have some solid ideas that will stand out compared to the other classes. I went in and asked Mrs.Meyers if we can use her window and we already have our shopping cart reserved. Lastly I will admit I have been slacking with decorating Estanlo. Standing Committee: I am an assistant member of the publicity and spirit committee, my help hasn’t really been needed other than with our spirit bombs on the staff doors, but a group-chat has been created where we can communicate with our committee leaders when they need help. Special Committee: I am a student leader along with the other junior class officers for the Dude Be Nice week Committee. Dude be Nice week occurred six weeks ago. All of the paper work was taken care of my Mrs. Mortensen but we were in-charge of selling the stickers at lunch from November 12th- November 14th. Concern/s: Previously, my main concerns revolved around the lack there of communication and organization within the Junior Class Officer Team. Fortunately, I feel as though we have been doing much better with doing what we need to get done. My main concern is just focusing on staying on top of everything and working on bettering myself. Positive Comment: The Junior class has been doing a lot better with communication. I feel like we all established an equal level of respect for one another in a professional and a platonic way.

January ASB Report
Position Assessment: Recently the main focus within the Junior class officer team is prom. In January, we held one meeting about prom and then we visited the River Mill on January 24th to get a better idea of the approximated cost, and the layout we decided. Earlier in January, we also had our annual winterfest festivities which include: the shopping cart contest, the bleacher/ rally decorations, window decorations, and spirit days. We place 1st in out cart decorations and rally decorations, but unfortunately overnight our window decorations fell and we placed 4th. In winterfest overall we placed 3rd. We also turned in our speeches on the topic Morty decided upon, mine was the value of photography, and then we later presented them. Standing Committee: I am an assistant member of the publicity and spirit committee, my help hasn’t really been needed other than with our spirit bombs on the staff doors, but a group-chat has been created where we can communicate with our committee leaders when they need help. Special Committee: I am currently not involved in any Special committees. Concern/s: Currently my main concern stems from the cost of prom and whether or not the Junior class will make profit off of our new set up which hasn't been done yet. Positive Comment: I feel as though the junior class has been a lot better about getting all of our work done and communicating in an orderly fashion. One Change: One change that I have is that I hope I am able to get back into a healthy grove and come into class with a smile on my face. I have always known that it's important to be true to yourself, but I have recently that the task is harder than it seems. My Impact: I hope that everyone in the program and outside of it know that they can always come and talk to me. Sometimes it's not easy to open up to your dearly loved ones, and all you need is someone to listen.
